NAGW welcomes Molly Holzschlag back as a special guest speaker at 2011 conference

Molly HolzschlagThe National Association of Government Webmasters (NAGW) is excited to welcome Molly Holzschlag back as a special guest speaker at NAGW’s 2011 National Conference. This year’s conference is being held at the historic Hilton Netherland Plaza in Cincinnati, Ohio September 14–16. This four star art deco hotel located in the heart of downtown Cincinnati will be host to the country’s only conference created specifically for local and state government webmasters.

Holzschlag, noted author, web maven and web evangelist, presented the keynote at last year’s conference. Ron Pringle, NAGW’s president, said “We’re very happy and honored to have Molly back for the second year in a row. NAGW prides itself on presenting forward-thinking material at our conferences, and Molly’s sessions on HTML5 and CSS3 will do just that.”

Holzschlag, who has been named one of the top 25 most influential women on the web, and is a passionate advocate for web standards, is scheduled to present a half-day pre-conference session on HTML5 on Tuesday, September 13; and a regular conference session on CSS3 Thursday, September 15.

“Molly is highly intelligent, very passionate about emerging web standards, and just plain fun to be around.” added Pringle. “She’s very down-to-earth and last year’s attendees loved getting the chance to talk to her and listen to her present.”

Holzschlag joins an already impressive list of speakers, including keynote speakers Joe Rotella and Kristina Halvorson. More speakers, including NAGW’s opening keynote speaker, will be announced the week of April 11, leading into the opening of registration on April 18.

In addition to Holzschlag, who was the closing keynote at NAGW’s 2010 National Conference, previous keynote speakers have included CSS expert Eric Meyer, Phil Mui of Google, user interface expert Jarod Spool and other government and internet luminaries.

2011 marks the 9th year of NAGW’s premier conference for local, state and federal government webmasters. “NAGW was started as a non-profit to specifically address the needs of local government webmasters. Each year we’ve gotten bigger and better and we think the 2011 conference will be our best yet.” said Pringle.
