Ryan has served as the Webmaster for the City of Santa Clarita since 2006. In 2007 he was instrumental in launching the City’s social media presence on Twitter and later Facebook. In Ryan also spearheaded a complete redesign and restructuring of the City’s main site, santa-clarita.com, in 2009. In addition to his everyday duties as Webmaster he continually looks for innovative ways to engage the citizens of Santa Clarita via open and transparent government.

Ryan is also very involved in the community as evidenced by receiving the 40 Under 40 award from the Santa Clarita Valley Business Journal in 2010. He graduated from the University of La Verne with a B.A. in Business Administration and has two small children.

Kristy Fifelski is the Web Services Manager for the City of Reno, Nevada, and manages the award winning Reno.gov website and Reno’s social media program. She is the West Region Director for the National Association of Government Webmasters and is a former “Employee of the Year” for the City of Reno.

Kristy’s blog at focuses on government use of web, social media and tech innovations. She graduated with honors from Northern Illinois University and holds a Master’s Degree in Communication. She has worked for 10 years in the public sector, formerly the Public Relations Coordinator for the City of Wheaton, Illinois, and Deputy Clerk for the Town of Cortland, Illinois. Kristy also teaches speech communication in her spare time.
